We believe that an education is the greatest gift we can give children to break the cycle of poverty. To do this, we strive to build self-esteem, to provide positive role models, to build their educational foundation, and to point the way to a future of hope and achievement. To ensure that we may offer this opportunity to as many South Los Angeles children, we need your help.
St. Michael’s School exists in a shattered community, which exhibits the problems of any inner-city: crime, drugs, and unemployment. Founded in 1903, this fully accredited school educates approximately 300 students. Full tuition is $2,850 annually, but it is negotiated per families’ ability to pay, which on average is $1,500. The actual cost to educate each student is more than $4,000 per student.
Subsidies from Together in Mission and the Catholic Education Foundation help bridge SOME of the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each child. Foundations and individuals also provide generous support.
We need your support. Please help us offer an outstanding Catholic education to disadvantaged students in South Los Angeles by making a donation today.
